Oswego, NY - Play Through the Foul Team Building and Communications Training traveled to upstate New York to facilitate the Oswego State University Captains Leadership Conference. The SUNY Oswego Lakers Captains of all athletic teams recently completed the two-day leadership training on August 27-28.
The Lakers assessed their individual leadership skills and communication styles, defined leadership, and addressed potential team issues with coaches participating in select sessions. Additionally, a special “Coaches Only Forum” offered innovative solutions to effectively mentoring and leading today’s Generation-Y/Millennial student athletes.
The conference was a huge success and kudos go out to the Oswego State administration and coaches, led by Athletic Director Tim Hale to think out of the box on how to empower their Captains to lead their respective sports teams. Vera reminds everyone that leadership is defined by how others “C” you – your Character, Communication and Choices create your Culture of Leadership! Good luck Lakers!
Augusta, GA - Watch out for the Lady Jaguars of Augusta State University this basketball season. Not only is this an athletically talented group, but now they expect to be a more empowered and cohesive unit having completed Play Through the Foul Team Building and Communications Training, August 30, 2009.
The Lady Jags are coached by Tes Sobomehein and look to make an major impact this season. With a team of 14 that includes 10 newcomers, "Coach Sobo" was the very first to contact Vera Jones regarding her desire for a motivational seminar and educational workshop. She recognized the sooner she could get her team on the same communication and leadership page, the better of they will be this basketball season. The team learned to focusing on their team goals, improve their relational ability with Social Styles and be accountable as leaders. Keep your eye on Augusta State Women's Basketball to Play Through the Foul, (literally and figuratively) this season.
